Growing up in Lincoln, Nebraska, I discovered my love of science and serving others through various extracurricular activities and volunteering. At Lincoln Southwest High School, I was president of my school’s engineering club, competed at the national level in debate, was an FCA leader, and played violin in orchestra. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outside, reading, studying the Bible, and getting coffee with friends.

Through volunteering, I developed a passion for service that I am excited to bring into my career as a mechanical engineer. One of my most rewarding volunteer experiences was serving on a mission trip to Mexico. There I saw firsthand the importance of infrastructure systems to prevent dangerous levels of flooding. As an engineer, I hope to design infrastructure to improve lives in my community and around the globe. The hands-on internship experiences and soft skills training that the Kiewit Scholars Program provides will be instrumental in my development as a Complete Engineer.
