During the summer, I had the opportunity to intern at Hammel, Green,and Abrahamson (HGA) a full-service Architecture and Engineering firm headquartered in Minneapolis. I filled the role of structural engineering intern in the Minneapolis office. I was tasked with aiding in the analysis and design of various structures thought their Healthcare, ACE, and Cooperate practices.
Some highlights of my summer were working on the analysis 650-foot-long skyway connecting two hospitals, aiding in the design of a mid-sized theater/playhouse, and attending intern outings at locations across the city of Minneapolis with the other15 interns in my office. Through the work at HGA this summer I saw the benefits of working closing with architects and engineers across all disciplines to further the design process.
