My name is Marshall Garner and I’m a senior Construction Management major at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Last summer I interned for Hausmann Construction as a project manager intern at the Knolls Senior Living Phase II project in Lincoln. This summer, however, I’m interning with Hausmann Construction as a project manager intern at the Lied Place Condos here in downtown Lincoln. My emphasis is directed towards the interior portion of this project.
I spend a lot of my time talking with sub-contractors to receive and review submittals, procure material, and coordinate installs. To me, one of the most valuable parts of this internship, with the project being a high-rise building, was being fully immersed in a project at it’s busiest and seeing all phases of construction concurrently. Another part I enjoy is having a variety of responsibilities and duties that help me get the most out of my internship.
