Ben Johnson, an electrical and computer engineering student from Aurora, Nebraska, developed the Grain Weevil, a robot that uses auger-based propulsion to move across the top of grain stored in silos or large bins and make workplaces safer.

Malik Askar, a University of Nebraska–Lincoln graduate who interned with Kiewit Corp. in 2019, now works as a field engineer for Kiewit on a multi-billion-dollar liquified natural gas project.

Paul Smith, who lives in Blair, donated this 1994 Ford Ranger pickup that he converted to all-electrical systems. Jerry Hudgins, chair of electrical and computer engineering, met Smith in October to receive the donated truck.
