The Engineering Readiness Academy (ERA) is a bridge program that aims to prepare incoming engineering, computing, and construction management students for academic, personal, and career success in the College of Engineering. ERA students get an early start to college by refreshing their math skills and building a community of other incoming students through team building projects and social activities.

To qualify for the Engineering Readiness Academy, students must be admitted to the College of Engineering and have taken high school algebra and/or trigonometry or its equivalent.

This academy most benefits students who are identify in one or both of the following categories:

  • Category 1:
    • First generation student (someone who is the first of their immediate family to go to college)
  • Category 2:
    • Have a high school grade point average of 2.5 to 3.5 on a 4-point scale OR have an ACT math sub score of 28 or lower OR have an ACT composite score of 30 or lower.
