We have an opening for 1-2 fully-funded graduate students interested in pursuing a Ph.D. degree in the Geotechnical Engineering Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) to start in Fall 2022 (or earlier). The prospective student should hold an engineering degree from an accredited university. Experience in experimental methods is preferred but not a requirement. The research will be focused on laboratory tests and supporting numerical simulations of multiphase transport through soils and soil-geosynthetic composite. The research will involve thermo-hydro-chemo-mechanically coupled experiments and analyses that account for high temperature, solute transport, mechanical swelling/shrinkage and cracking, etc. Interested candidates should send a resume and personal statement to
