Criteria

Successful applicants must:

  • Meet admission requirements and be enrolled in the University of Nebraska – Durham School of Architectural Engineering and Construction (DSAEC)
  • Major in Construction Management or Construction Engineering
  • Enrolled as sophomore, junior or senior at time of award
  • Maintain a GPA of at least 2.5
  • Complete the CIAC Scholarship application.
  • Demonstrate involvement or engagement in the construction industry through one or more of the following
    • Active participation in student clubs such as Associated General Contractors, (AGC), Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA), Women in Construction (WIC), Mechanical – Electrical Specialty Contractors, (MESC), Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Student Chapter.
    • Participation in student competitions
    • Work related experience: internship or construction trade  
Responsibilities

Scholarship recipients must:

  • Enroll full-time (12+ credit hours) in the semester the scholarship is awarded; unless a senior requiring 6-9 credit hours for graduation
  • Maintain a GPA of at least 2.5
  • Remain in good standing as a student
  • Comply with all University regulations, rules, and codes of conduct governing students on campus
  • Consent to release grades to the Director of the DSAEC for the purpose of reporting to the Donor
Selection Process

Initial judging will be made on the basis of each candidate’s grade point average, career goals, participation in extracurricular activities, and evidence of leadership, character and self-reliance. Applicants may be contacted for an interview by the CIAC Scholarship Selection Committee.

Application deadline is February 1.
