Qualifying Exam Information for MEAM PhD

Application Deadlines

Preferred Application Deadlines for the M.S. - Mechanical Engineering & Applied Mechanics and the PhD - Mechanical Engineering & Applied Mechanics program:

  • Fall:  January 15
  • Spring:  October 15
  • Summer:  January 15

Preferred Application Deadline for the PhD in Engineering with a specialization in Materials Engineering program:

  • For full financial consideration, students must apply by January 15 for the Fall semester.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to have faculty members identified as possible advisor.

Applicants are cautioned that their applications may not be reviewed in time for the requested entry term (due to funding and travel bans), and may therefore be deferred to a later entry term.
