Matthew Norris is an Instructor in the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Department at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. His research focuses on understanding the development of complex competencies, such as problem solving and systems thinking, in engineering and interdisciplinary contexts. His prior work includes the development of standardized behavioral assessments of health systems thinking and health systems science in undergraduate medical education. Future work intends to expand these assessments to interdisciplinary engineering problems and explore the use of generative AI in administration and evaluation.
