Join Nebraska Engineering for Women in STEM Day to explore career opportunities in the fields of science, technology, design, engineering, and math. During the event, you'll connect with faculty, staff, students and women in industry as they share about their experiences. Attend information sessions and interactive workshops to learn about pursuing a career related to robotics, pre-med, engineering, computing, chemistry and more!

9 - 9:30 a.m. | WELCOME - Nebraska Union Auditorium Stacy Riley, Director of Peter Kiewit Foundation Engineering Academy | College of Engineering Jeff Beavers, Director of Recruitment & Outreach | College of Engineering Faculty Speaker: Angela Pannier, Ph.D., Swarts Family Chair of Biological Systems Engineering, Professor of Biomedical Engineering |
9:35- 10 a.m. | BREAKOUT 1 Follow-up with a biomedical engineer: Learn more from Dr. Pannier (Biological Systems Engineering) about what students should consider when pursuing a career in industries related to biomedical engineering. Helping others through biomedical research: Learn from an industry professional from Zoetis about her work in the biomedical industry with medicines and products that help animals all over the world! Design, spaces and buildings, oh my!: Finding a career path in buildings, planning, and design at Clark Enersen. The world of engineering: Learn from an engineer about her experience utilizing problem-solving skills everyday at Alvine Engineering. |

11 - 11:25 a.m. | STUDENT SPOTLIGHT Hear from current students in various STEM majors who have had internships, done research, and gotten involved in and out of the classroom. |
11:30 - 12:00 p.m. | LUNCH: Cather Dining Center |
12:30 - 1:30 p.m. | STUDENT WORKSHOPS (across campus) A Parents' Session will be held in the Cather Dining Center. Various workshops are available for students related to chemistry, robotics, food science and engineering careers. |
1:45 - 2:30 p.m. | CLOSING REMARKS AND INFO FAIR |
While Women in STEM Day is brought to you by Nebraska's College of Engineering, the event will include information about various majors across departments relating to science, technology, engineering and math.
Arrival Information
Attendees may park in the Larson Parking Garage (1317 Q Street).
Check-in and event will be in the Nebraska Union (1400 R Street, Lincoln, NE).
