MME alum appointed associate dean at Texas Rio Grande Valley

Constantine Tarawneh, who received master's and doctoral degrees in mechanical engineering at UNL, has been appointed associate dean for research in the College of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

Constantine Tarawneh, a mechanical engineering alumnus, has been appointed associate dean for research in the College of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

Tarawneh, who earned a master's degree from UNL in 1999 and a Ph.D. in 2003, was a visiting summer sessions faculty in the UNL Mechanical and Materials Engineering Department from 2003-13 while also on faculty at the University of Texas-Pan American.

In 2015, Tarawneh became a full professor at Texas Rio Grande Valley in the Mechanical Engineering Department. He is also director of the University Transportation Center for Railway Safety.
