Dr. Logan Perry is an Assistant Professor of Engineering Education in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. His research examines engineering preparedness: how students develop the knowledge, ways of thinking, professional capabilities, and sense of belonging needed to navigate engineering education and enter professional practice. Within this broader agenda, he studies learning transfer across courses and contexts, critical curricular and workforce transitions, and approaches to broadening participation and supporting student persistence in engineering. His work also explores how emerging technologies, including virtual reality and immersive learning environments, can create more authentic and accessible opportunities for developing engineering competencies. By connecting research on learning, participation, and professional formation, Dr. Perry seeks to strengthen pathways through engineering education and better prepare the engineering workforce for the evolving demands of practice.
