Two College of Engineering Student Councils were honored at the 2023 National Association of Engineering Student Councils’ (NAESC) Engineering Leadership Summit at the University of Pittsburgh last month, receiving an award for Best Engineers’ Week celebration.
Members of the Engineering Student Advisory Board (eSAB) on City Campus in Lincoln and the Nebraska Engineering Student Council at Omaha (NESCO) on Scott Campus were in attendance to receive the award in Pittsburgh. “Blast Off” was the theme of UNL E-Week 2023, which was held Feb. 19-25 to coincide with national Engineers Week.
“Our student councils have invested a lot of hard work into E-Week, because how it impacts students is real,” said Gracie Kerr, eSAB E-Week co-chair. “The way we reach out to students and connect them with industry employers can be a foundation for the future. We are incredibly grateful for the involvement opportunities our sponsors have made possible.”
A University of Nebraska tradition since 1913, E-Week annually features many student-led events, which are supported by industry donations and sponsorships. This year, 23 industry partners contributed to E-Week.
The Engineering Leadership Summit is an annual event hosted by the NAESC where representatives from all member schools meet to network, vote on NAESC policy, and experience the events and sights of the host school.
