In the course of its efforts to support students, The Peter Kiewit Foundation Engineering Academy (the “PKFEA”) accesses and shares information to further support the academic progress of scholarship students. The PKFEA staff may access information about students’ academic status and performance, and they may share information about PKFEA students as a whole (e.g., overall graduation rate) with the Peter Kiewit Foundation.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln may disclose and share contact information and the following types of data and information to the Peter Kiewit Foundation:

· FAFSA Information (data collected from my Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA))

· Academic Information (grades/GPA, registration, demographic information, student ID number, academic progress, enrollment status, attendance, extra-curricular involvement, enrollment information, student course schedules, code of conduct/academic misconduct)

· Financial Aid Information (college-maintained loan disbursements, awards, disbursements, eligibility, financial aid)

· Student Account Information (billing statements, charges, credits, balances, payments, past due amounts, collection activity)

The Peter Kiewit Foundation may share certain portions of the data listed above with persons who do research for the Foundation. The purpose for sharing information is to administer scholarships and for the Peter Kiewit Foundation and its researchers to study the impact of the Peter Kiewit Foundation's educational support programs.

Federal law protects the privacy of student education records, and this policy to release records to the Peter Kiewit Foundation applies to records that may otherwise be protected under the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974(FERPA), as amended. In receiving such information or records and sharing such information and records with persons who do research for the Peter Kiewit Foundation, the Peter Kiewit Foundation agrees to abide by all applicable laws, including FERPA and the Higher Education Act.

When applying to the PKFEA and agreeing to this policy, the agreement will remain in effect until an applicant/student notifies the Peter Kiewit Foundation in writing to cancel it. After a written notification is given, the PKFEA staff will be notified.
