Areas of Research and Professional Interest

My research focuses on HVAC, energy efficiency in buildings, energy storage, smart building controls, and thermal science. A lot of my work has focused on faults in heat pumps and air-conditioners; how they affect the behavior and performance of these systems, how common they are, and automated fault detection and diagnosis tool development and testing.
