About Eric
The Grand Challenge Scholars Program to me is a way to surround myself with like minded, adventurous, and driven scholars who are working to make the world a better place. This program allows me to focus on designing new materials to improve structures, make lighter machines, create green energy from fusion reactors, and further interplanetary travel. At our current pace with technology and manufacturing, it won’t be a matter of coming up with an invention, but rather the resources and materials needed to make that vision a reality. That’s why I plan to work side by side with fellow students and engineers to invent the next generation of alloys and ceramics that can withstand extreme environments, hold more weight, and be lighter than before. With this community of determined scholars, I believe that anything is possible if we set our minds to it. Few fun things about me: -I love music and I'm in the marching band -Reading is one of my favorite pastimes -I've built a rocket that's reached ~4,600ft, next goal over 10,000ft -I like working with electronics and circuits - I'm an Eagle Scout.
