The College of Engineering held its first CAREER Grant Preparation Seminar, April 14. The session was designed to provide new faculty with information to help them prepare for National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Grants, a key grant in the start of their research careers. The main presenter was Dr. Z. J. Pei, professor of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems at Kansas State University and a leading expert in this field. Participants also heard from a panel of UNL peers who have been successful in receiving CAREER Grants, including: Dr. Myra Cohen and Dr. Sebastin Elbaum, Computer Science and Engineering; Dr. Axel Enders, Physics and Astronomy; Dr. Mustafa Gursoy, Electrical Engineering; and Dr. Gustavo Larsen, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.
