Kiewit Hall construction continues

Structural work on Kiewit Hall is noticeable at the intersection of 17th and Vine Streets on UNL's City Campus. Construction activities occurring this summer include erecting structural steel on level five of the new building and deck and detail metal decking on level four. Underground plumbing and electrical is being installed on the west and east sides of the building as well as foundation wall waterproofing. Additional work includes backfill around the Kiewit Hall foundation wall, level one slab grinding and slab-on-metal deck reinforcement on the west side of the second level.

More construction updates:

  • Installation of precast walls continues at Nebraska Hall as the north entries to the building are undergoing metal framing and window replacements (expected completion is in two months)
  • Some exterior work continues at the Engineering Research Center as more interior work is underway, including furnishings like Hi-Bay lighting and south bay lighting
  • Interior framings and renovations continue at Scott Engineering Center, along finishing some exterior window replacements.
