Donuts, bagels, a carnival, and a dance were among the most popular events during E-Week 2024 - “Light the Way” - for engineering students on City Campus in Lincoln and Scott Campus in Omaha. The brightest star of the City Campus schedule was Kiewit Hall, the college’s new building that opened for Spring Semester. Having Kiewit Hall as the host for most of City Campus’ E-Week events impacted attendance, as more than a thousand students enjoyed everything from Lunch and Learn symposiums to a Saturday Engineering Dance in the Kiewit Hall lower level to conclude the week’s festivities.

"The University of Nebraska Lincoln's E-Week 2024 was a massive success, and I would like to thank the faculty and staff at the University of Nebraska Lincoln, the members of the Engineering Student Advisory Board, the UNL students, and lastly all the sponsors that helped to make E-Week what it was," said Matthew Aarstad, E-Week co-chair, eSAB, and sophomore mechanical engineering major. "The 2024 E-Week at UNL hosted 16 events and we had more than 1,500 students attend throughout the week. We are looking forward to E-Week 2025."

Scott Campus enjoyed an uptick in attendance as well, with more than 850 attendees from students, faculty, staff and industry participating in an Engineer’s Night Out and Industry Mixers to making concrete Nebraska “Ns” and lava lamps, as well as playing Jeopardy! and cornhole.

“We had a blast planning and hosting E-Week on Scott Campus this year. We are grateful for all the help and support of the RSOs here on campus as well as the support of this year’s E-Week sponsors,” said Vivian Le, an architectural engineering major and NESCO E-Week Chair. “The students on Scott Campus really showed up and showed out this year.”

“We saw new events and first-time participation from RSOs and students alike,” added Le. “One of our favorite events this year, and one of the most popular, was LSTEM’s Heartfelt Hues DIY Piñatas and Papel Picado. We had lots of fun exploring Latino culture through arts and crafts.

All E-Week events are planned and scheduled by members of the Engineering Student Advisory Board (eSAB) on City Campus and the Nebraska Engineering Student Council at Omaha (NESCO) on Scott Campus. This year, 17 industry partners contributed to UNL E-Week 2024.
