T. Mark Miller recently joined Olsson as a subject matter expert and will assist higher education and institutional clients with solutions for facilities planning, design and construction/resource management.

Miller, who earned a master’s degree in engineering management from the College of Engineering in 2016, was previously a senior assistant vice president for facilities management and planning at Penn State. He also held the same position at UNL before working at Penn State. Additionally, Miller, a retired Lt. Col. with the U.S. Air Force, served as chief of programs for Air Force Space Command.

“Mark is uniquely qualified in all phases of facilities management, planning, asset management, capital planning, deferred maintenance, and more,” noted Dave Roberts, chief development officer with Olsson. “His professional knowledge and leadership experience will be an asset to our higher education partners.”

While at Penn State, Miller supervised more than 1,000 people responsible for $9 billion in physical plant assets, including more than 200 facilities across 23 campuses. At Nebraska, Miller was the first systemwide vice president of facilities management, responsible for $4.3 billion in facilities across four campuses. In the military, he managed planning and program validation, asset management, capital investment policy and guidance for 87 sites globally, including nine major Air Force installations and launch ranges at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and Vandenberg Air Force Base.

In addition to the MEM degree from Nebraska, Miller earned a bachelor’s degree in civil and architectural engineering from the University of Wyoming and graduated from the Air Force Air University Squadron Officers School and Air Command and Staff College.
