Kiewit Hall continues to be focal point of City Campus construction

Structural work on Kiewit Hall continues to take shape at the intersection of 17th and Vine Streets. Construction this fall includes activity on several levels of the facility, including waterproofing on the lower level, lower level wall framing and slab polishing, and Level 1 overhead MEP rough-in and Level 2 slab polishing. Deck and detail metal decking is ongoing on the roof while elevator machines are being installed on top of hoist ways.

Traffic along Vine Street, between 16th Street and N Antelope Valley Parkway, was closed in early October to accommodate Vine Street storm sewer and sanitary sewer projects as well as the North 17th Street storm sewer installation.

More construction news
  • All sidewalks and hardscapes are now complete;
  • West elevation soils amended and irrigation has been installed with planting ongoing and sod installed along 16th Street;
  • Painting inside on Level 3 has begun and lighting is being installed on the south side of the Hi-Bay. 
     Progress on the college’s $190 million multi-phase facilities projects is updated frequently and can be viewed live on the College of Engineering’s Construction Central website.
