NCCA bestows ‘Friend Award’ to civil engineering alum

Kent Miller, a 1971 graduate of the College of Engineering with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and master’s degree in civil engineering (1972), was honored by the Nebraska Community College Association in November with a Friend of Community Colleges Award.

Miller, a North Platte native still residing in the community, is a 48-year veteran of the Mid-Plains Community College Board of Governors, first elected in 1975. Professionally, he is a registered professional engineer in the states of Nebraska and Colorado, and, since 1973, became the first manager of the Twin Platte Natural Resources District.
