NIAC highlights water, energy conservation through videos

Industry Communications: Spring 2021

By Phil Carter

The Nebraska Industrial Assessment Center (NIAC) is training and educating the next generation of engineers with student assessment teams producing a series of videos to highlight changes in energy and water savings implemented by manufacturers. Using information from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Industrial Assessment Center database, the videos highlight how to estimate the relative cost of water, map water use, and evaluate methods for reducing costs.

There are 15 videos, each less than five minutes in length. The first series of videos details common methods used for reducing energy and water usage while the second series is targeted at manufacturers using large water volumes such as hot water and water that accrues organic matter as it goes into the sewer.

These videos are available on the NIAC web site .
