About Jami
The Grand Challenge Scholar Program stuck out to me as a great way to utilize some past experiences and motivate me for future work towards a Grand Challenge. I have worked a lot with facilitating engineering curriculum through my role as an Engineering Ambassador and conducting research that investigates the most effective curriculum in middle-school aged students. Because of these past experiences, I believe myself to have become an advocate for STEM curriculum in schools. The Grand Challenge for Advanced Personalized Learning is focused around developing instruction that can be individualized to the student, based off of learning styles, speeds, and interests. Working towards this Grand Challenge means helping optimize instruction for students and, ideally, giving students around the world a better education — which is the foundation for success. Being a part of the Grand Challenge Scholars Program allows me to be part of a community with other passionate scholars and offers resources I may need to work towards making a lasting impact on the world.
