Ken West, AIA, recently retired
as a Principal at DLR Group
after 43 years in the A/E
industry and 38
years with DLR Group. His
responsibilities and experience
over his career ranged from
being a structural technician,
to staff architect, to project
architect, project manager,
project leader, Principal in
Charge on projects.
He also fulfilled roles as Omaha Office Leader,
Regional Marketing Leader and Regional Hi-Ed
Business Sector Leader. West spent much of his time
doing business development and being involved in
community outreach / activities.
As his leadership responsibilities at DLR Group grew,
so did his personal involvement in the community
organizations and numerous University of Nebraska
boards and committees, including: University of
Nebraska Architectural Engineering Advisory Board,
the University of Nebraska President’s Advisory
Committee, UNO Athletics Advisory Board, Maverick
Council Executive Board, University of Nebraska-
Lincoln College of Architecture Advisory Board and
UNO Strategic Planning Committee.
He is also involved with Omaha Chamber of
Commerce Board, Omaha Chamber of Commerce
Education Committee, Keep Omaha Beautiful
Advisory Board, Omaha by Design Advisory Board, the
Architectural Foundation of Nebraska Board, ATO
Fraternity Alumni Board and church leadership.
He also serves on The Durham School of Architectural
Engineering and Construction Advisory Board.
