Lance C. Pérez, dean of the College of Engineering and the Omar H. Heins Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been selected to receive the 2019 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Education Society Distinguished Member Award.

Lance C. Pérez, dean of the College of Engineering and the Omar H. Heins Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been selected to receive the 2019 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Education Society Distinguished Member Award.

The award is given to a member of the IEEE Education Society to recognize outstanding long-term service to the IEEE Education Society and significant contributions in fields of interest to the IEEE. 

Pérez was chosen to receive the award for “contributions to the finance structure and organization of the IEEE Education Society.” He will be presented the award Oct. 18 at the society’s banquet, which is part of the Frontiers in Education Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio.

In 2016, Pérez was selected to receive the 2016 IEEE Education Society Edwin C. Jones, Jr. Meritorious Service Award, which recognizes significant leadership and administrative contributions to the society. Pérez served as treasurer, as well as providing other sustained contributions.
