Tell us more about your plans:
Luis is planning to work as a Structural Engineering intern at Kiewit for the summer 2021. This will be his second summer working in this same position at Kiewit, and it will be the first one he will get to work in-person at their office in Omaha.

He is also planning to pursue a Master's Degree in Structural Engineering at UNL starting Summer 2021. As part of the Master's program, he will be performing research on historic monument preservation and seismic engineering. As part of his thesis, he will collect data points and build a 3D model of the Rosalila Mayan Temple located in Copan, Honduras. He will use this model to study the causes of cracking and deterioration of the temple via finite element analysis and dynamic load analysis given the seismic region that is located at.

Who/What has inspired you during your college career?
Luis' mom, brother, girlfriend and close friends whom he has met during my years in Nebraska. They have been his support and inspiration for not giving up on his goals and for following his dreams.
