May 14, 2014 - <span>Corey Kruse, a mechanical and materials engineering graduate student, received a 2014 NASA Space Technology Research Fellowship. The honor includes $68,000 in annual funding, renewable up to three years.</span>  Full Story

Jung Yul Lim, an assistant professor of mechanical and materials engineering, has received a five-year, $430,554 Faculty Early Career Development Program Award from the National Science Foundation for his research.

February 19, 2014 - With work on surgical robotics happening daily at UNL’s College of Engineering, students will reach new heights— literally, 35,000 feet — to conduct research for NASA on robotic surgery for space travel.  Full Story

The Jan. 15 edition of the journal Biomaterials included work by Terry and Mark Borden of the University of Colorado, who collaborated to develop a new way for providing oxygen to people whose lungs cease to function.
