A team of Nebraska Enghineering students led by biological systems engineering faculty Santosh Pitla recently won a robotics competition held at the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) Annual International Meeting in Houston, Texas.

Students on the 2021-2022 HuskerBots team were CheeTown Liew, Herve Mwunguzi, Aaron Haake, Krishna Muvva, Salem Nyacyesa Rumuri, Pacifique Mucyo, Theo Joseph and Hessan Sedaghat.

The challenge was to design a robot that could harvest cotton. The team started work on the project in May, about two months before the competition.
