Stephanie Ahrens, an architectural engineering major in The Durham School at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, became the first Division I track and field All-American for University of Nebraska Omaha by tying for eighth place in the high jump at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

June 11, 2018 - The University of Nebraska’s National Strategic Research Institute, which sponsors research by many Nebraska Engineering faculty, has been renewed with a five-year, $92 million contract with the U.S. Air Force.  Full Story

A truck crashes into a bull-nose barrier being tested for use in medians to protect cars from overpass columns. The front wood pylons are designed to shear off easily along with several metal ones. The shearing allows the energy of the crash to be transferred into the ground. Cables in the guard rails are designed to keep the car or truck captive and not let it deflect back into traffic.
