Industry Communications: Spring 2022
Thanks to alumni, friends and supporters of UNL, the College of Engineering finished as one of Glow Big Red’s finest finishers during the 2022 edition of 24 Hours of Husker Giving.
Nebraska Engineering finished ninth overall (out of 25 organizations offering participation challenges in 2022) with 143 donors contributing $19,246 from noon on February 16 through noon February 17. At its conclusion, Glow Big Red raised nearly $600,000 with 4,935 gifts totaling $598,575. Contributions poured in from all 50 states, including 3,158 gifts from Nebraska. Second highest state on the list was Illinois (126 gifts). California was a close third with 120 gifts followed by Texas (118 gifts).
The college’s Engineers Without Borders student organization also benefitted from the generosity of Glow Big Red as it was one of three award winners recognized for the Student Life and Leadership Challenge, receiving a $150 bonus towards its Glow Big Red fundraising match.
Challenge sponsors play a crucial role in ensuring the success of Glow Big Red annually by growing awareness for the 24 Hours of Husker Giving as well as supporting UNL, its students and its faculty. This year’s Challenge Sponsors included Bailey’s Deluxe Pet Care, Berry Law, Boom Solutions, di Natale Creative Services, Hughes Brothers, Inc., Friends of IQM and Unanimous.
