Plant-based component could boost bacterial production of biodegradable plastic

Rajib Saha's lab is studying the sepcies Rhodopseudomonas palustris for secrets to engineering a better bacterium that could lead to production of biodgradable plastics that could help reduce accumulation of plastics from the ocean floors to the peak of Mount Everest.
