Turner named prestigious ASA Fellow

Dr. Joseph Turner, Robert W. Brightfelt Professor of Mechanical & Materials Engineering, has been elected a 2014 Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America (ASA) for his contributions to theoretical and experimental ultrasonics.
The ASA Fellowship recognizes select scientists who have made significant contributions to the fields of acoustics, hearing science, physiology, music and related fields.
Turner has been a faculty member at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln since 1997.
In 2013, he received the Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Germany, where he has conducted research at the University of Goettingen, as well as other German labs.
