Two engineering faculty selected as IEEE Fellows

Two Nebraska Engineering faculty - Hamid Sharif and Gregg Rothermel - have been selected as IEEE Fellows by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Sharif, the Charles J. Vranek Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, was chosen for his work on the development of railroad wireless communication.

Rothermel, a professor of computer science and engineering and the Jensen Chair of Software Engineering, was selected for his contributions to software testing and end-user software engineering.

 According to the IEEE website, the IEEE Fellow designation is reserved for select members of the society who have exhibited extraordinary "accomplishments that have contributed importantly to the advancement or application of engineering, science and technology, bringing the realization of significant value to society."
