Windows 10 End of Life was October 14, 2025.
If your system supports it, you should upgrade to Windows 11. It may be as simple as going into Settings->Windows Update, and clicking on the up Windows 11 package (though it may also be hidden under 'Advanced Options->Optional Updates'.
Local reports say the upgrade takes about 90 minutes.
ITS has made Win11 upgrades available via Self Service
Windows 11 Self Service upgrades are now available in Software Center for all devices running standard (non LTSC) versions of Windows 10 that are compatible with Windows 11. We recommend that end users use this method to upgrade to Windows 11 at a time of their choosing. This self-service upgrade process within Software Center has replaced any “available” type self-service deployments of Windows 11 that may have been setup previously.
We do ask that you encourage end users running standard versions of Windows 10 that have Windows 11 compatible computers to complete this upgrade process by or before November 30, 2025.

As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure and reliable computing environment, we’re encouraging all users still running Windows 10 to upgrade to Windows 11, which is now available as a self-service upgrade through Software Center.
⚠️ Important: Microsoft has officially ended support for most versions of Windows 10 as of October 14, 2025. After this date, most devices running Windows 10 will no longer receive security updates, which may impact system security and compliance with university IT standards.
To ensure continued access to university systems and services, we recommend completing your upgrade no later than November 30, 2025.

How to upgrade:
- Open Software Center from your Start Menu (type “Software Center” to search for and open the application)
- Go to the Operating Systems tab.
- Select NU Windows 11 x64 Upgrade – 24H2 and click Install.
- Follow the prompts to complete the upgrade.
⚠️ Important: If you do not see the upgrade as available within Software Center, your computer may not be compatible with Windows 11. Contact your IT support team for assistance.
Your files, settings, and access to university resources will remain intact after the upgrade. Please ensure your device is plugged in and connected to the university network before starting. The upgrade process will take approximately 30 to 60 minutes.
