Area of Research and Professional Interest

Oliva has researched, written, and presented papers on Transportation Enginering and Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics(STEM) -related topics in different conferences.

• Complete Streets and Multimodal transport system.

• Sustainable and inclusive transport system for marginalized groups in Dar Es Salaam city, Tanzania. The research is also aimed at reducing carbon foot print on the environment.

• Urban Transportation Systems.

• Humanitarian engineering example construction of infrastructure for emergencies.

• Oliva collaborated with other Women Engineers in promotion of science subjects for girls and career mentorship for graduate students (4/2019-9/2021).

• Tutor II - Civil Engineer at Ilula Folk Development College, Ministry of Community Development; Gender and Children (06/2015 – 07/2016)

• Oliva searched for female school dropouts and helped them secure admission in vocational colleges.(08/2015 – 07/2017)
