  • Sepehr Pashoutani and Bibo Zhong graduated with PhD degree in December 2023. 
  • Dr. Zhu is selected by ORED for 2022-2023 research leaders program,  September 2022.
  • Dr. Zhu received COE Faculty Research & Creative Activity Award, March 2022.
  • Dr. Zhu received a DOE grant to investigate safe storage of spent fuel (2021-2024).

We Won ACI-James Instruments Award AGAIN

  • Bibo Zhong, PhD student advised by Dr. Zhu, won 2020 ACI-James Instruments Award for his research on using the acoustoelastic effect to evaluate prestress loss in concrete.  This is the second time our UNL students won this award.  Sepehr Pashoutani, also advised by Dr. Zhu, won this award for 2018 competition.  Since this award was established in 2020, four students advised by Dr. Zhu have won ACI-James Instruments Award (see the complete list).  Dr. Zhu was the 2002 awardee when she studied at University of Illinois.
