Emerging Research Shaping the Future of the Built World

The annual Durham School Ph.D. Symposium takes place on the back of our annual Durham School Future of the Building Industry (FoBI) Workshop. Selected Ph.D. Fellows are invited to attend the 2-day FoBI workshop and present their scholarly work to each other and to Durham School faculty and students. All trip-related expenses (travel, lodging, food) for up to 30 selected Ph.D. Symposium Fellows enrolled at peer institutions are covered by the Durham School.  Fellows are doctoral students who will graduate in this year or the following one with Ph.D. degrees in Architectural Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related area, preferably pursuing research in the broad areas of high-performance infrastructure, sustainability, occupant comfort and well-being, and/or safety.
