Nebraska's economic strength and the quality of life of its citizens depend on high-quality, high-paying, career-building jobs: the types of jobs that feed the world, make the world a safer and sustainable place, and create high value products, devices and infrastructure.
At the College of Engineering, our mission is to train the next generation engineering workforce, to cultivate the technology leaders of tomorrow and to help make Nebraska’s industries employers of choice. This is for our graduates, but also to attract top talent from around the world. We are committed to helping make Nebraska a destination of choice, offering educational opportunities and incredible careers.
To accomplish our goals and serve the state of Nebraska, we are committed to working with our state's industries, reaching out to our alumni, and developing new connections and opportunities for our students.
We encourage our alumni to keep us informed of their activities and to get involved with us and our students.

Senior Capstone project connects with Sidney city planners

As part of a 2025 civil engineering senior design capstone project, 19 students worked on four teams to provide the foundation of a large-scale project to renovate Hickory Street Square in Sidney, Nebraska. City planners hope to rejuvenate the economy of the downtown area and the community. It's a special opportunity for engineering students to have a real-world impact by engaging with a Nebraska community on a project that could positively affect generations to come.
