Our Mission
The Nebraska Engineering Ambassadors Network (EAN) aims to redefine how students think about science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Through dynamic presentations and hands-on activities, our Ambassadors inspire K–12 youth (especially those from underrepresented groups) to imagine a better world and see themselves as agents of change.
Overview of the Engineering Ambassadors Program
What is the Engineering Ambassadors Network?
The Engineering Ambassadors Network is part of a national professional development initiative that combines leadership training with a strong outreach mission. At Nebraska, our Engineering Ambassadors are outstanding undergraduate students in the College of Engineering who are passionate about sharing their knowledge and experiences with K–12 students across the state.
What Our Ambassadors Do:
- Deliver interactive presentations on real-world engineering topics
- Lead engaging hands-on activities that connect classroom learning to engineering practice
- Serve as relatable role models, answering questions and offering advice about STEM education and careers
Our visits are designed to spark curiosity and demonstrate the impact of engineering on improving lives and communities.
Why It Matters
Engineering is more than equations and experiments—it's about solving real problems and making a difference. Our program helps students:
- Connect classroom STEM concepts to real-world applications
- Understand the human impact of engineering
- Envision themselves as future innovators and problem-solvers
