2026 WORKSHOPS: JULY 24, JULY 27
This one-day workshop will give secondary educators insight into how chemical engineering problems are approached and solved by applying math and science principles. Two identical workshops will be offered on July 24 and July 27. Please register for one of the workshops using the links below.
Registration is limited to 30 individuals per session.
Benefits of Attending
Educators attending the workshop will use chemistry and math to solve and analyze problems, perform experiments, make measurements, and analyze data. These activities will be done in a classroom environment and may be appropriate to incorporate into courses you teach. This year's workshop topic will be lab safety, personal safety, and process safety. Case studies from accidents that happened in Nebraska and adjacent states will be used to demonstrate that safety is more than goggles, lab coats, hard hats, and safety shoes and has a fundamental basis in science and engineering.
Intended Audience
New and experienced chemistry teachers for high school level courses.
Workshop Facilitators
The faculty from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering will facilitate the workshop.
Date and Time
The workshop will be on July 24, 2026 and July 27, 2026
Workshop: 9:00 am - 4:45 pm
Dinner: 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm (optional)
Location
Othmer Hall in Lincoln (820 N16th St.) on City Campus
