Logan Pettit, first-year Ph.D. student in mechanical engineering
April 27, 2021 - Logan Pettit, a first-year Ph.D. student in mechanical engineering, has been selected to receive the NASA Space Technology Graduate Research Opportunities (NSTGRO) Fellowship. Pettit is only the second UNL student ever to earn the fellowship.  Full Story

April 27, 2021 - Ben Johnson and Zane Zents, seniors in electrical and computer engineering, were awarded the 2021 "Eat it!" Lemelson-MIT Student Prize for the Grain Weevil, a grain bin safety and management robot that keeps farmers safe and grain stored efficiently.  Full Story

On April 24, the Nebraska Big Red Satellite team will launch its first high-altitude balloon with six test payloads as a precursor to the NASA CubeSat Launch Initiative. The test will occur at the Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum in Ashland.
April 23, 2021 - A team of Nebraska middle and high school students, mentored by Nebraska undergraduate engineering students, will have their satellite placed into Earth orbit as part of a NASA launch in the next several years. It is the first ever from a Nebraska team.  Full Story

April 14, 2021 - A new $452,783 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture will fund research that will help Santosh Pitla's team develop a new approach for refilling Unmanned Ground Vehicle seed tanks using aerial robots.  Full Story

Established via a cooperative agreement with the National Science Foundation, the Engineering Research Visioning Alliance (ERVA) was officially launched on April 7, 2021. The first engineering research visioning alliance of its kind, ERVA is a diverse, inclusive and engaged partnership that enables an array of voices to impact national research priorities.
April 07, 2021 - The National Science Foundation (NSF) Directorate for Engineering has launched the Engineering Research Visioning Alliance (ERVA), the first engineering research visioning organization of its kind. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is a founding partner.  Full Story

Klaasmeyer Chair in Engineering and Technology, and director of the Nebraska Transportation Center and Mid-America Transportation Center, has been awarded an Innovation, Development and Engagement Award from the University of Nebraska.
