About the Biological Process Development Facility
The Biological Process Development Facility supports individuals and organizations with the advancement of biopharmaceutical discoveries by providing a unique combination of capabilities and expertise to reach their target goals.
The BPDF began as a protein research laboratory in the University of Nebraska Food Science and Technology Department in the mid-1990s. In 2003 the BPDF moved to a newly constructed space in the College of Engineering designed for biopharmaceutical process development and manufacturing. An expanded GMP manufacturing suite was commissioned in 2014. Since 2014, the BPDF has executed over 40 different projects in partnership with government agencies, biotechnology companies, academic researchers, and non-profit organizations.
