Student Worker Positions

The Biological Process Development Facility (BPDF) in Othmer Hall employs student workers that are generally available for 8-10 hours a week between 8 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday during the school year, and 10+ hours during the summer.

Tasks include assisting staff with preparation for bioprocessing activities, media and solutions preparation, routine testing and collection of environmental samples, cleaning and maintenance of process equipment, and basic laboratory upkeep.  Training is provided, and the ability to follow detailed standard operating procedures is required.

These positions offer a great opportunity to learn about Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) principles, good documentation practices, and technical skills that will help prepare you for a future career in the Biotechnology industry or another STEM related field.  Preference is for students majoring in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, Biological Systems Engineering, Biochemistry, or Food Science & Technology; however all related majors are encouraged to apply.  Please contact us at bpdf@unl.edu if you’re interested in a student worker position with the BPDF.
