November 30, 2022 - After a 2020 derecho hit east-central Iowa, Nebraska's Christine Wittich conducted "structural reconnaissance" on a unique case study to learn why four of an interconnected group of five grain bins were destroyed and one was left totally intact.  Full Story

As small “slippery” particles or microorganisms such as Cryptosporidium travel through a pipe, they tend to concentrate in the middle. A Nebraska Engineering study looks to exploit this knowledge to determine better ways for energy and environmental sectors to achieve greater efficiency at mitigating contamination or in providing cheaper fuel.

August 22, 2022 - Jae Sung Park and Yusong Li are working on a three-year, $418,120 NSF grant to learn how small particles – some less than one-tenth the width of a human hair – better move through confined fluid flows in transport systems, such as pipes.  Full Story
