Nebraska Engineering students take fourth in Ethics in Engineering competition
It was the first time a team from Nebraska participated in the two-day event that requires teams to study a case filled with challenging ethical dilemmas. Teams assume the role of consultants to a company's leadership and provide recommendations that combines engineering, ethic and business issues. The 21 teams in the competition presented in three rounds. Then six semifinalists were chosen to give more presentations and answer judges' questions. As part of the competition, students get the opportunity to tour Lockheed Martin's Global Vision Center, Center for Leadership Excellence and Global Emergency Operations Center.
"I am very proud of Maureen and Parker. They showed the quality and the talent expected in the Huskers," said Amar. "I am very proud of them and very thankful to the College of Engineering leadership for providing our students with such opportunity to compete at the national level. It was hard, but I was confident the Huskers were up for the challenge, and they proved me right."
