Academic Advising Coordinator earns NACADA Global award
Kayla Person, academic advising coordinator for the College of Engineering, has been chosen to recieve the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) Global Outstanding Advising Award. Since each institution can nominate only one advisor, Person was UNL's only nominee. She will receive the award during the NACADA Annual Conference in St. Louis, Missouri, in October. Person was recognized for having demonstrated a variety of components valued by the advising community -- among those are strong interpersonal skills, evidence of student success rate, engagement in developmental advising and availability to students, faculty and staff. NACADA is a globally recognized association for the development and dissemination of theory, research, and practice of academic advising in higher education.
