April 24, 2018 - Researchers from Nebraska, MIT and Massachusetts General Hospital have incorporated platelet-rich plasma into a bio-ink: a 3-D-printed mixture of cells and gel that could eventually become the stuff of skin grafts and regenerative tissue implants.  Full Story

April 23, 2018 - Four undergraduate student research projects and one graduate student project were chosen as winners during the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s annual Spring Research Fair, April 10-11 at the Nebraska Union.  Full Story

The Optomec Lens 3D Hybrid Machine Tool is one of three new hybrid 3-D printers installed in the new Nebraska Engineering Additive Technology (NEAT) Labs in Scott Engineering Center.

Like the 2017 Go Baby Go! electrical car for toddlers with mobility issues, many of the senior design capstone projects on display at the Senior Design Showcase have immediate, real-world impact.
April 17, 2018 - The Senior Design Showcase, Nebraska’s premier undergraduate engineering student design event, will be held Friday, April 27, 2017 from 1-3:30 p.m. in Memorial Stadium's East Stadium Club Level, overlooking Nebraska's iconic football field.  Full Story

Prahalada Rao, assistant professor of mechanical and materials engineering, has received a five-year, $500,000 Faculty Early Career Development Program award from the National Science Foundation to further his work to develop a process of 3-D printing known as smart additive manufacturing.
April 17, 2018 - Prahalada Rao has high expectations for 3-D printing: no less than revolutionizing the world, in fact. Rao has earned an NSF Early Career award that will further his research.  Full Story
