Construction program golden anniversary celebration: Call for Luminaries

In the spring of 2025, the Durham School is gearing up to celebrate the Golden Anniversary of its Construction Program, which has played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of construction education for over 55 years. The Golden Anniversary celebration is slated to take place in April 2025 at the school's new home on the City campus in Lincoln: the state-of-the-art Kiewit Hall.

September 20, 2019 - More than 200 students, faculty and staff took part in #LINKBASH on Sept. 19, a party for the College of Engineering to bid farewell to The Link and to move a time capsule that is scheduled to be opened in 2037.  Full Story

September 16, 2019 - A look at images from the Monday, Sept. 16 press conference announcing a $20 million gift from Peter Kiewit Sons', Inc., that is a significant contribution to construction of a new engineering building to be called Kiewit Hall.  Full Story

Father Bill Holoubek, a 1989 agricultural engineering alumnus, was in charge of the project to create and bury a time capsule outside The Link 32 years ago. Students led all phases of the project, including the creation of blueprints.

July 17, 2019 - Nebraska architectural engineering students Andi Walter and Ryon Sommerer have been chosen as the winners of the 2019 IES Howard Brandston Student Lighting Design Education Grant, the top international student lighting competition.  Full Story

Nebraska students won the 2019 NCEES Engineering Education Award. It is Nebraska's second grand prize in this competition since 2016.
July 12, 2019 - For the second time in four years, graduate students in The Durham School of Architectural Engineering and Construction at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln won the Grand Prize and $25,000 in the 2019 NCEES Engineering Education Award.  Full Story
