Construction program golden anniversary celebration: Call for Luminaries

In the spring of 2025, the Durham School is gearing up to celebrate the Golden Anniversary of its Construction Program, which has played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of construction education for over 55 years. The Golden Anniversary celebration is slated to take place in April 2025 at the school's new home on the City campus in Lincoln: the state-of-the-art Kiewit Hall.

Aaron Young has been awarded the $10,000 Willis H. Carrier Scholarship from ASHRAE.
August 16, 2021 - Aaron Young, an architectural engineering student in The Durham School, has been awarded the $10,000 Willis H. Carrier Scholarship. The award is among 33 ASHRAE Society Scholarships for 2021-22, totaling $174,000.  Full Story

Over two years, Josephine Lau and her team surveyed and analyzed 216 classrooms from 39 schools in the Midwest, and the study revealed links between the type of ventilation system installed at a school and its students' performance on year-end math and reading tests.

Malik Askar, a University of Nebraska–Lincoln graduate who interned with Kiewit Corp. in 2019, now works as a field engineer for Kiewit on a multi-billion-dollar liquified natural gas project.
